If I could think of a title, I would place it here. But as I can't, let's just get on with it...

She opened her eyes and looked around. There they were. Just like almost every morning. Marching. Always marching. In perfect order. The army of Invaders never spoke. They didn't even make a sound. They simply did their job. She glared at them. She hated what they were doing. Anger and rage welled up inside of her. They did not belong here! This was her home, not theirs!

It had began only a couple of weeks ago. She had only seen a few then. She had thought nothing of it then. Now, they seemed to be everywhere! Many times they would sneak in during the middle of the night. That was when they would plunder and reek havoc upon her stores. Most of the time, they would not take all of it, but she couldn't bear to eat it after they had been through it all.

She remembered what it was like before they had come. Things had been so peaceful. She had had such freedom then. That freedom seemed forever gone. Like a fading dream, never to return. Most of the time, they didn't really bother her personally. Only when she got in their way. Then they would become angry and attack her. Once, she had accidentally interrupted what they where doing. In the blink of an eye, they were upon her. She was in pain for many days afterwards from the wounds she received. Some of those wounds were still there.

She knew that she was not the only one who had encountered such problems with the Army. People all over the city had similar stories. She was tired of just sitting and watching them do their horrible deeds. She had to do something. Even if they attacked her again, it would be worth it. So, rising from where she lay, she walked quickly yet as quiet as a mouse, to the cabinet. Opening it, she retrieved her secret weapon. She had been waiting for the opportune moment to use it. That moment was now. Stealthy, she got as close to the Army as she dared. She pried the lid off, and without any remorse, she sprayed the bug spray all over the ants. They were finally gone. For now at least.

ANTS!!!! How I loath the tiny creatures. Their super-sonic-olfactory senses are amazing! How can anyone believe they just evolved?!?!?! The ONLY way they could have obtained their incredible talents is through the Creator!

Once again, my room is plagued with the tiny vermin. >:o( No matter how hard I try to seal or hid the food, they always manage to find it. i wake up in the morning to find a long line of the diligent creatures making their way from a tiny crack in my window, across the wall over the shelf, up one side, down the other, until they get to my stash. They then proceed to carry it piece by piece, grain by brain, back up the shelf, across the top, and down the other side. Across the wall they march one-by-one in perfect rank and order. Back through the microscopic hole, they carry their prize. Unto their sovereign queen they present it. O that I could find her and crush her! But alas, she is too well concealed. So....out comes the bug spray. My only defense aside from my finger. And attempted genocide occurs as the evil creatures breath in the poison and are met with horrible death. They then make their way into ant heaven...or...back to dirt. I dunno. Either works for me. Just so long as they are dead.

But now my room smells like bug spray. So, I open all the windows (all consisting of two) and turn the air conditioning on high. I then freeze as I attempt to ventilate my room from my own poison. But...thats ok. I shall not die, but live, in peace once again (at least until tomorrow morning).

In no way was that an attempt to "steal" Jeff's idea.

I will say that I have greatly admired his writing though, and it is my hope that one day, I can become as captivating a writter as he is.

So, to hear you say that it seemed an immitation of his previous post is quite the complemint to me.

Do they have traps over there? Sometimes those things work nicely for a longer term. Or some sort of intense ant killer. Or maybe a pet anteater would do the trick. And there is always Tupperware- for the food, not the ants. I suppose you could also just put out food for them and hope that they are appeased by the gift and leave the rest alone. And perhaps the best way to look at it is: hopefully you don't find them in your clothes because that, I must tell you, is the absolute worst! Well, that and the time that they totally devoured my banana bread sitting on the counter for breakfast the next morning. This was all in Georgia of course...the insects and I have an understanding up here...the mice and I however are still in the negotiating process.

Ok, enough from me. love you!!!!!
